MARS
Named after the Roman god of war, the planet Mars is located four planets from the Sun. Commonly referred to as “The Red Planet,” Mars tends to give off a reddish hue when viewed from Earth. This is believed to be caused by an abundance of iron oxide on the planet’s surface. Mars is about half the size of the Earth.
Mars has two moons, Phobos and Deimos, both of which are relatively small in size and not shaped in perfect spheres like the Earth’s moon. Mars can be easily seen from Earth without a telescope at a brightness that is only surpassed by the planet Venus, the Moon and the Sun.
Mars has long been considered the most realistic location for life in our solar system, aside from Earth. Many even believe that intelligent life may have once existed on the planet. Scientific exploration of Mars has not produced any evidence of life on the planet. It is believed that the harsh surface environment and extreme solar radiation that saturates the surface of the planet is not capable of sustaining any kind of life.
Currently, the Mars rovers Spirit and Opportunity are close to entering their third year exploring the surface of the Mars, gathering images and information so that we may continue to increase our knowledge and understanding of the Red Planet, as well as the possibility of past or future life on Mars.

Hockey
All thoughts of an NHL best 53-18-11 regular-season record now are tucked away in the recesses of the minds of San Jose Sharks players and coaches. For San Jose, the real challenge is now, namely to erase years of playoff disappointment and produce the Stanley Cup so many feel the club is capable of earning. One can understand the high expectations for the Sharks when you look at core players like Joe Thornton, Patrick Marleau, Devin Setoguchi and Joe Pavelski up front, Rob Blake and Dan Boyle on defense and Evgeni Nabokov in goal.Standing in the way are the Anaheim Ducks, a club that struggled to find an identity for much of the season, but a team that righted the ship to the tune of a 42-33-7 record and 7-2-1 mark in its last 10 games. Anaheim also is a club not far removed from its 2007 Stanley Cup championship, still icing Cup winners in Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Scott Niedermayer, Teemu Selanne, Chris Pronger, Rob Niedermayer, Todd Marchant, Francois Beauchemin and J.S. Giguere.

Fate
Fate, a power believed to control events in our life. In other words fate is destiny. Just like the saying goes: “What is to happen is to happen and can’t be stopped.” Fate is also the force or principle believed to predetermine events. Another way you could say fate is: “The will or principle or determining cause by which things in general are believed to come to be as they are or events to happen as they do.”
First of all, some people say there is no fate and we control the events in our life, but they can’t decide when we will be born, live, or die. Most of us do think there is fate, because no one knows the future or more as the events of our life. Also the people who believe in fate know that we can’t stop what is destined to happen.
For example look at Mahatma Gandhi he had fate and knew that his destiny was: “To stop the British army from invading India,” so he did what he thought he had to do and that was to give independence. That is why most people believe in fate because we can’t stop what is destined to happen.
This is just like what Santiago did in the story. He sold his herd of sheep because he had a dream that he was to find a treasure. So then he went to find the treasure he was dreaming about with fate.
There are things in life that we as humans are meant to do. Also my prediction is that everyone is meant to do something. Sometimes I think that I am meant to be a doctor that will help the world to have a healthier future. I think I am meant to do this because in India I help my grandfather in his clinic.
Just for an example look at Obama, who at a small age found out that he was meant to be the president of the United States some day just by a vision he had. So he followed that vision to the top.
Sometimes when we think we weren’t meant to do anything, we do something good at random, not knowing what we did. Just like when I was discussing about a project and my friend said something out of random and that got us a great idea.
We humans (some) have dreams. My dream is that one day I will become a well respected scientist and by that, one day I will find a cure to all types of cancer in one pill. My dream is to do this because I always want to help people, and make a better world for everyone to live in, with fate.
For my dream to come true my whole family is morally supporting me and will be supporting me. My family is the best supporter a person could ever have because when ever I am feeling low they boost up my confidence.
Yes, I do feel that I have the power to make my dream into reality. I think this because I have the two main thing I need. So, for me those two main things are the support from my family and my confidence. Also because I am focused on my aim (goal) and working very hard towards the top of my goal. Another thing is that I am willing to be a doctor so I could help people in other ways as well.
This is another thing what Obama did, he said that he felt he had the power to make his dream into reality. So he worked on it and made his dream into reality. Exactly the same thing also happened to Martin Luther King. This is also what I want to do.

In addition, as many as 50,000 of the province's 300,000 people may now be homeless, according to Italian Civil Protection Agency figures cited.
Berlusconi declared a state of emergency, which frees up government funds to deal with the disaster, the Associated Press said, and canceled a planned trip to Russia to travel to the region.
As many as 15,000 buildings were destroyed across the region, according to reports. Rescuers continue to comb the rubble.
The quake hit about 70 miles northeast of Rome in the mountainous Abruzzo region, and has damaged homes, hospitals and several churches dating back as far as the 13th century.

The Creation of Summer & Winter
The Creation of Summer & Winter
Once upon a time, there lived two twin boys. One the boy's name was Shako, and the other boy's name was Minoka. Shako was the spirit of winter, and Minoka was the spirit of summer. Shako wanted the whole year to be cold and snowy as Minoka wanted the whole year to be hot and sunny. This is the reason Shako and Minoka always argued. So then the twins decided to split and move. Shako moved to the north and Minoka moved to the south. Therefore north became cold and south became warm long ago.
Many years has passed and Shako decided to travel further south he from where lived. So then Shako decided to and rest on a huge rock. Once he had waken up he sighted a beautiful woman. She was collecting cedar leaves, because over there it was very cold, and no crops grew there. When Shako saw the beautiful woman he fell in love with her, and then he went to talk 0to her. “What is your name,” Shako asked the beautiful girl. She replied politely, “My name is Kachinioy.” Also when Kachinioy saw Shako she also fell in love with him, not knowing who Shako was. Just then Kachinioy asked Shako, “What is your name?” Shako replied, “My name is Shako.” Kachinioy father Ronorak the chief of the village saw the Kachinioy and Shako loved each other, and then he decided that they will get married. Once Shako and Kachinioy married, Shako came to lived in the village with Kachinioy and his father Ranorak in a wigwam.
Many years had passed while Shako and Kachinioy married. One day Shako decided that he would go to visit his old house and meditate there for a few days. Before
he went Shako ran to his wife Kachinioy and told her the truth for who he was.
“Kachinioy, I want to tell you that I' m the spirit of winter,” said Shako. Kachinioy said
back, “I found out the day I meet you that you were the spirit of winter, but I still loved you because you had a pure heart.”
So then Shako left the village, and within four days Shako reached his old house
and then he checked everything, if everything was fine then he started to climb up a mountain to meditate at the top of it. Just after Shako left Minoka, Shako's twin brother decided to travel a little north from where he lived. Minoka also decided to carry a little bit of corn for the way. After four days of walking Minoka spotted Kachinioy, Shako's wife and then he went up to her and asked her, “What is your name ?” Kachinioy replied,“My name is Kachinioy.” Then Minoka insisted,“Take the corn.” “ Where did you get it from,” asked Kachinioy, “is it near from here or I' ll get and take some myself.” Minoka replied, “No, I live in the south over there it is very hot and from there I brought the corn. Kochinioy listen, come here every eighth day and I' ll be here
in the meadow with some corn.” Suddenly, Kachinioy asked Minoka “What is your name.” Minoka announced back, “I almost forgot to tell you my name, it is Minoka the spirit of summer.”
When Minoka saw Kachinioy, he fell love with her knowing that she was the wife of Shako. Kachinioy also fell in love with Minoka when she first saw him forgetting that she already married Shako. By the eighth day Minoka was waiting for Kachinioy to take the corn. When she came to take the corn, she invited Minoka to have dinner and stay over the night, and Minoka agreed.
When Minoka, Kachinioy and Ranorak were having dinner they heard a voice yelling, “Minoka, I know that you are here. So now come out in the meadow and face me, face to face,” announced Shako. Suddenly Kachinioy realized that Minoka looked exactly like Shako, but Minoka was brown and Shako was white. So then Minoka explained to Kachinioy the relation between him and Shako.
Then Minoka did as Shako told him to. When Minoka reached the meadow Shako yelled, “ I see that we both love my wife and my wife loves us two. So now let us have a challenge brother. “ What is it,” Minoka asked. “ So now listen ,” said Shako, “ Who ever will win the war between us will get to marry Kachinioy, and the weather will be there choice.” “ I agree and we will meet meet here on the twelfth day for the war,” said Minoka. So then it took four days for Shako to go to the north and it also took four days for Minoka to go to the south.
When Shako got to the north he created a army of animals to help him in the war. That took Shako four days to do. When Minoka got to the south he also created a army of animals to help him in the war. That also took Minoka four days to do. Then Shako and Minoka started to go to the meadow where the war was going to begin then finally it took four days to go to the meadow and the twelfth day started. Now, finally the war started.
Minoka and his army of animals stood at the left of the meadow. His animals' fur burnt up and became black or brown. That is why summer animals' fur is black or brown. Shako and his animals' stood at the right end of the meadow. His animals' fur became all snowy then it turned white or grey. That is why winter animals' fur are white or grey.
Shako and Minoka started the war by sending the animals into fight, but that didn't last very long because Shako made Minoka's animals so cold that they ran away. Minoka also made Shako's animals so warm that they also ran away. Next Minoka made it so sunny and rainy that Shako's snow and ice started to melt. Shako did not know what to do so he decided to give up.
So then Minoka decided to marry Kachinioy, and Kachinioy's father Ranorak agreed that Minoka and Kachinioy will get married. Minoka also decided that half of the year will be warm and he called it summer, and the second half of the year will be cold and he called it winter. This is also how summer and winter was created, and now everybody lived in peace.

2007 was a banner year for video gaming, and the industry has the figures to prove it. The Entertainment Software Association announced today that total sales for 2007 were $18.85 billion, with $9.5 billion of that spent on games and $9.35 billion on consoles.
Both the movie and music industries should be jealous of gaming's 2007 growth. The motion picture industry saw modest growth in 2007, reporting a total box office take of $9.66 billion, a modest increase over 2006's $9.49 billion. Things aren't going as smoothly for the music industry.
Comparing total sales of the games industry to only the box office gross of movies is cherry picking data. The box office is a small portion of the film industry's revenue. If you include DVD sales, TV licensing, Pay-Per-View, etc, the movie industry made something like $45 billion last year. And that's not including sales of DVD players, so it's only fair to not include the sales of game consoles in the comparison. So that's games' $9.5 billion vs film's $45 billion.
